Yormii launches range at the Spring Fair
Yormii launches range at the Spring Fair

It is increasingly difficult to not give in to the doom and gloom of the current worldwide economic downturn. That coupled with an increasing struggle to keep far eastern manufacturing prices low, product companies are considering alternative solutions. One small city in the north of the UK has produced a housewares manufacturing company with a mighty vision.

Nathan Bestwick, founder of Sheffield based company Yormii Kitchenware Ltd says, “Sheffield, and the UK in general, has a proud history of innovation, and manufacturing. It is generally understood that in order to manufacture products, you have to source them from the Far East to be able to compete on price. I put this myth to the test, and have found that Yormii is able to match Far Eastern production prices, whilst having the added benefits of greater control over the manufacturing process, the quality of the products we produce, and vastly lower shipping costs with a smaller carbon footprint.”

Yormii is a company driven by ideas and innovation. Their experimental approach to designing product solutions has produced a range of highly innovative housewares products, some of which are covering new ground. Their first product, named Millmiitm, is a pepper mill unlike any other. It is used by rubbing it between the palms of your hands, as you would when warming your hands on a cold day, or when looking forward to your favourite meal. A playful, and stylish design with a soft touch surface that is available in a range of colours. Millmii is a response to an experiment that focused on inclusive design. Yormii aims to become an international housewares brand synonymous with British ideas and innovation, and renowned for their vision of manufacturing in the UK.

Yormii will be officially launching at the Spring Fair International 2012 (Hall 1 Stand C26), where they will be demonstrating their Millmii pepper grinder. Future products include Spicemii, Munchmii, Honemii, Pourmii, and more.
